Ok, so I am big on holiday and seasonal wreaths, but I only have room to store so many. So the idea here was to have a wreath with some permanent fixtures (like gold flamingos and “welcome-ish” sign) and then switch the floral part to match the holiday or season. I think the texture of the grapevine wreath combined with the green floral vine should provide enough little “holes” to stick the floral in without having to permanently secure it to the wreath. So here’s what I used: Plain grapevine wreath, greenery garland (both from Hobby Lobby), Dollar Tree yard flamingos (sprayed with gold spray paint), Wooden Welcome-ish sign (from Hobby Lobby, painted white) and then some random floral I already had.
I started by laying the greenery garland around the grapevine wreath (the size matched up almost perfectly, with just a few extra inches on the garland). I secured the garland to the wreath with pipe cleaners and added a little hot glue for safe measure. Then I poked 2 holes in the back of the flamingos (that I spray painted gold!). I threaded a pipe cleaner through those holes and attached it to the wreath. I again used a little hot glue for extra hold. Did the same with the Welcome-ish sign (pipe cleaner and hot glue). Because after all, gold flamingos and a message of “Welcome-ish” is year round decor! Lastly, I poked the random floral in the holes. The idea is that come next holiday (4th of July?), I can swap the spring-like flowers out for red, white, and blue.

I am pretty pleased with it, and as a little update – the wreath has been up for about a month or so now, and only one time (after VERY heavy rain and wind) did I find one of the “non-attached” floral pieces on the ground. It was a quick pop back in and good to go!
